Iraqi Strikers Demand Peace with Israel; Assailed by Minister

The desire for peace with Israel exists within the Iraqi people, despite the public statements of government leaders, it was indicated in a report received here from Bagdad.

At a press conference in the Iraqi capital, Said Qazzaz, Minister of Interior, reported that among the slogans shouted by striking oil workers in the Basra oil fields, was: “Long live Israel-Arab union. ” The Minister charged that this proved that the strikers were “corrupting elements.”
