Seminary-israel Institute to Launch Third Annual Lecture Series

The Seminary-Israel Institute, sponsored jointly by the Theological Seminary of America and the Jewish Agency, will open its third annual lecture series at the Seminary February 10, Dr. Louis Finkelstein, chancellor of the Seminary, announced.

Each of the lectures, the purpose of which is to strengthen the spiritual and cultural bonds between Israel and America, will be addressed by distinguished American and Israeli scholars. The principal speaker at the first session will be Dr. Y. Leo Kohn, Weizmann Professor of International Relations at the Hebrew University, author of the draft Constitution of Israel, who will speak on the “Emerging Constitution of Israel.”

Later lecturers will include: Prof. Howard Mumford Jones of Harvard University; Dr. S.D. Goitein of the Hebrew University’s School of Oriental Studies; Dr. Morton Smith of Brown University; conductor and violinist Milton Katims; and Dr. Nelson Glueck, president of the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion.
