Israel Summer Seminar for U.S. High School Students Launched

The first Israel summer seminar for high school students is being launched as an incentive scholarship award to students excelling in the study of Hebrew in the public high schools, it was announced here today.

In addition to five weeks’ touring and studying in Israel, the seminar will include a ten-day tour of Holland, Belgium, and France. Orientation and Hebrew conversation courses will be given aboard the trains-Atlantic and Mediterranean ships on which the group will sail to Israel.

The seminar is co-sponsored by the Jewish Education Committee of New York, the Jewish Agency, the American Association of Teachers of Hebrew in the Public High Schools, and the Hebrew Culture Service Committee for American High Schools and Colleges. Included in the first group leaving June 28th are 28 outstanding students from the high schools of New York City, Chicago, Buffalo, and other communities.
