Zichron Yaacov, one of the oldest settlements in Israel, will tomorrow become the site of a new oil drilling project.

The colony, which was founded with the support of Baron Edmond de Rothschild and has produced Israel’s famous Carmel Wines, is considered one of the likely places for oil to be found in Israel. A drilling rig has already been set up next to the colony’s granary.
