Yeshiva University Establishes Israeli Institute in New York

Yeshiva University in cooperation with the Jewish Agency has established an Israeli Institute to provide programs for graduate students and laymen seeking to learn about Is el, it was announced yesterday by Dr. Samuel Belkin, president of the University.

The new program, which will be under the direction of Dr. Samuel K. Mirsky, Professor of Rabbinics at the University, will consist of two accelerated sessions each academic year devoted to general and specialized courses stressing the relationship between Israel and the American Jewish community. Those completing the prescribed course of study will receive a certificate issued jointly by the University and the Torah-Culture Department of the Jewish Agency in Jerusalem.
