Andrei Vishinsky, head of the Soviet delegation to the United Nations, has received the Syrian delegate to the UN and discussed with him Syria’s proposal in the General Assembly that a commission consisting of the representatives of the Big Five attempt to deal with the Palestine problem, a Damascus radio broadcast in the Hebrew language said today.
A broadcast monitored here said that Mr. Vishinsky had told the Syrian delegate at the UN that the Soviet Union welcomed the Syrian proposal and that if Syria wanted a “positive reaction” the Soviet delegate was prepared “to consider this question.”
