All Jewish institutions and organizations in France closed down at 11 A.M. today in a sign of mourning and protest against the hanging of two Jews in Cairo this morning. French Jews were both horrified and angered by the executions.

The Zionist Federation of France, in a resolution, condemned Egypt for this “crime.” It also called upon international opinion, especially that in the United States, to prevent a repetition of new crimes like these which can “only increase a serious situation already replete with tension.”
