Three Israel soldiers were wounded within the past 24 hours in a continuation of the Egyptian infiltration and violence in the Gaza area. Today’s developments followed on the heels of a condemnation of Egypt by the Israel-Egyptian Mixed Armistice Commission for the attack on a wedding party at Patish, 12 miles inland from the Gaza strip frontier, last Thursday, in which one woman was killed and 23 persons were wounded.

A military spokesman reported that last evening an Israel soldier was wounded in an exchange of fire which followed the discovery of a party of Egyptian infiltrators in the Kissufim area. The infiltrators escaped across the border. This afternoon, an Israel patrol car was mined near the Gaza border and two soldiers were hurt, one seriously.

The MAC decision on the Patish raid strongly condemned Egypt for a “brutal, murderous act of aggression” by two grenade-hurling infiltrators. The MAC noted with “grave concern” that aggressions against Israel had not yet been terminated. It expressed its concern with the incident as an aggravation of a serious situation along the border, and urged Egypt to arrest those responsible for the attack.

Three other incidents along the Israel-Egyptian border were reported last night, in each of them one infiltrator was wounded before the Arabs could escape across the Egyptian border. In one instance the infiltrators were shepherds pasturing flocks on Israel land. Near Nitzana a party of settlers approaching some infiltrates were fired on from across the Egyptian frontiers.

In the Israel-Jordan border district an Israel patrol near Maagal was fired upon, but suffered no casualties. Israel complained yesterday to the Israel-Jordan MAC against the kidnapping of two Arab citizens of Israel by Jordanians in Central Palestine.

Four Israelis arrested in connection with the murder of five Jordanian Bedouins ?? reprisal for the killing of Shoshana Harzion and Oded Wagmeister were released ?? bail today by a magistrate after Israel police reported their investigation was completed.
