A paragraph warning against discriminatory practices has been added to application forms for private employment agency licenses, in an effort to keep operators of such agencies aware of their responsibilities under New Jersey’s anti-discrimination law. The move was announced here by Carl Holderman, Commissioner of Labor and Industry.

The new statement warns that “It is an unlawful employment practice to discriminate against an applicant because of race, creed, color, national origin or liability for military service in advertising registering, referring, asking illegal questions or making illegal disclosures to an employer.” The warning is a reiteration of legislation first passed in 1945 and amended in 1949 and 1951.
