Tunisian Jews Establish New Settlement in Israel’s Lachish Area

The eighth new settlement in the Lachish area has been established by new immigrants from mountain communities in Tunisia. The settlement will be part of the Hapoel Hamizracht settlement chain.

The Malben tuberculosis hospital in Gerdera has been converted to use as a home for the aged and disabled, and in doing so has marked the great victory over tuberculosis in this country. Malben has cared for 6,200 TB cases in the past five years–5,000 of whom have already returned to normal living.
