Jewish congregational affiliation in the United States has risen by 10 percent in the last year according to the Yearbook of American Churches published by the National Council of the Churches of Christ in the U, S. A. here today.
The statistical breakdown of the various faiths in America published by the Council listed 5,500,000 members of Jewish congregations in this country, as against a total of 5,000,000 in last year’s count. The Council’s figures for American Jewry apparently assumed that virtually every Jew in the United States was affiliated with some congregation.
