Jews to Celebrate 300th Anniversary of Return to England

The Jews of Britain will open their celebration of the 300th anniversary of the return of the Jews to England with an exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum on January 5. The year of celebrations will be marked by a banquet at London’s famed Guildhall and by a Tercentenary service at the historic Bevis Marks Sephardic synagogue. Lord Samuel will preside at the opening ceremony. Other events in the celebration program include art and book exhibits, youth displays, a pageant and concert at the Royal Festival Hall and a series of lectures on the history of the Jews in England.
