Premier David Ben Gurion and United Nations truce supervisor Maj. Gen. E.L.M. Burns conferred today on a ceasefire along the Israel-Egyptian borders and on various problems relating to the Israel-Egyptian armistice agreement, including recent Egyptian violations.

After the meeting, a communique by the truce organization said that Gen. Burns would proceed to Cairo within a few days to discuss the same problems with Egyptian authorities. It was learned that the discussion today centered about the proposals by UN Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold and Gen. Burns for easing tension in the demilitarized zone at Nitzana-El Auja. These proposals have been accepted by Israel, but Egypt has made no official comment and Israel has charged that Cairo has turned down the Hammarskjold–Burns proposals.
