With Queen Elisabeth, the British Museum, and other prominent individuals and organizations contributing materials, an exhibition of Angle-Jewish art and history will be opened here January 5, at the Victoria and Albert Museum, as the inaugural event of a year-long celebration observing the tercentenary of Jewish resettlement in Britain. The Jews, forbidden to live in England for a long time, returned here in 1656 after negotiations between Rabbi Menasseh Ben Israel, of Amsterdam, and Oliver Cromwell.
Lord Samuel is president of the Tercentenary Council, a special group organized for the commemoration, and the joint chairmen are Rabbi A. Cohen and Even Montagu. Queen Elizabeth has loaned for the special exhibit some precious historical materials in her personal possession.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
