Einstein College Gets $150,000 Gift from Jacob Ziskind Trust

The Albert Einstein College of Medicine has received a $150,000 grant for radiology research from the Jacob Ziskind Trust for Charitable Purposes, of Boston, it was announced today by Dr. Samuel Belkin, president of Yeshiva University. The gift will be used to establish the Jacob Ziskind Radiology Research Unit at the college, the first medical school under Jewish auspices established in America.

The radiology unit will conduct research and teaching on problems relating to the biologic effects of ionizing irradiations; further diagnostic uses of Xray, and the use of radioactive isotopes in medical diagnosis and therapy. The Ziskind trust has made contributions to Brandeis University, Jewish Theological Seminary of America, Hebrew Union College, Weizman Institute of Science of Rehovoth, Israel, and a number of non-Jewish educational institutions.
