Considerable activity and interest has been aroused here in preparation for the Pan-American meeting of representatives of Latin American Jewry which opens in Montevideo on Friday. Some 350 Argentinean Jews are already registered as delegates from various Argentine groups.

The Jewish press has been carrying articles on the problems to be discussed at the conference and has been offering the views of various groups on how best to assist Israel. One proposal gaining favor in the youth movement is for young people to volunteer for one year’s service in Israel. The Argentine newspaper “La Nacion” has published an editorial discussing the Montevideo parley.
