Alex Rothenberg, controller of the United Jewish Appeal since its founding in 1937, died this weekend at the age of 77. Born in Dorpat, Estonia, Mr. Rothenberg came to this country as a boy. He was also active in the Keren Hayesod, fund raising arm of the Jewish Agency.
