Julian Freeman to Head Commission of American Jewish Congress

Julian Freeman, Jewish communal leader of Indianapolis, has been appointed chairman of the American Jewish Congress National Commission on Organization, it was announced by Dr. Israel Goldstein, president. Earlier this year, Mr. Freeman was elected a national vice-president of the American Jewish Congress.

Mr. Freeman was for five years president of the National Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds. He is a director of the United Hias Service and a vice-president of the United Synagogue of America. In his new capacity as chairman of AJC Commission on Organization, Mr. Freeman will direct the expansion of the Congress movement in Jewish communities throughout the nation. In consultation with national and local leadership, he will work to strengthen existing chapters and to form new units
