The resolutions on the unconditional withdrawal of Israel troops from the Gaza and Akaba areas adopted by the United Nations General Assembly last Saturday night will only serve to “promote the very conditions which are calculated to perpetuate the Arab-Israel conflict, ” Dr. Emanuel Neumann, president of the Zionist Organization of America, declared yesterday at a conference of ZOA regional presidents here.
Dr. Neumann charged that the United Nations is being “employed as an instrument for bedeviling a critical international problem. ” He warned of “the tragedy that this development may portend for all of mankind: for such a negative role by the United Nations is likely to undermine the confidence in the world body itself, and to dash the hopes and prayers which accompanied its establishment”
