If Israel decides to build a wide diameter oil pipeline across the Negev paralleling the current Elath-Beersheba line, France will assist and probably other countries will, too.

This was revealed here today by Levi Eshkol, Israel Finance Minister, who returned from a visit to France where he conferred with both French Government leaders and private businessmen and financiers. However, Mr. Eshkol said it was too early to say whether Israel would go ahead with a larger pipeline. He said that any credits Israel receives from France would be extended under “acceptable conditions. “
