Americans approve Eisenhower Administration handling of the Israel-Arab dispute by two to one and believe that if an Israel Egyptian war breakout again, Egypt is more likely to start it, the Gallup poll reported today.
The nation-wide survey found that 50 percent were satisfied with the way the Administration has dealt with the Middle East conflict, 23 were dissatisfied and 27 percent had no opinion. Opinion was evenly divided on the question of whether new hostilities might break out between Israel and Egypt, with 36 percent considering it likely, 34 percent believing peace will be worked out and 30 percent having no opinion.
Thirty-three percent felt Egypt was more likely to start a new war, with 26 percent feeling Israel would take such action and 41 percent expressing no opinion.
