Israel President Leaves Country for Ten-day Mediterranean Cruise

President Yitzhak Ben Zvi and Mrs. Ben Zvi left Haifa today on the S. S. Theodor Herzl for a ten-day vacation cruise of the Mediterranean, Israel’s first family will spend the entire vacation aboard the new Israeli passenger liner, thus legally remaining on Israeli territory. Joseph Sprinzak, Speaker of the Knesset, is Acting President.

Prior to her departure, the First Lady was hostess to a deputation of Arab women educators. Composed of educational and welfare workers from Nazareth, Acre, Jaffa, Kafr Yassif, and other Arab centers in Israel, the members of the group are now touring the country and visiting welfare institutions. They hope to bring better service to their own communities. Mrs. Ben Zvi, who was greeted in perfect Hebrew by her guests, expressed gratification over the increased social, educational and welfare activities among Arab women.
