House Honors Rabbi Berman; is Leaving U.S. to Settle in Israel

The House of Representatives paid tribute to Rabbi Morton M. Berman of Chicago, I11, who delivered an opening prayer this week. Members of Congress arose on the House floor to thank Rabbi Berman for delivering the prayer and noted that he is leaving the United States to make his home in Israel.

Rep Barratt O’Hara, Illinois Democrat, asked blessing for the rabbi “in all the days ahead in his work of dedication to the greatness and goodness of the State of Israel.” Rep. Charles A. Boyle, Illinois Democrat, told the House of Rabbi Berman’s record in Chicago and Illinois, saying that in Israel he would find “a new opportunity” for his good works. Rep James Roosevelt. California Democrat, and Rep. Marguerite Church of Illinois, Republican, joined in lauding the rabbi.
