Tunisia Closes Rabbinical Courts; Opens Regular Courts to Jews

The rabbinical courts which have had jurisdiction in civil lawsuits among Tunisian Jews have been abolished, it was announced today by Justice Ahmed Mestri, Tunisian Secretary of State. The Justice said that Jews may now use the regular Tunisian courts.
