A preliminary agreement calling for the establishment of a shipping line to operate permanently between Elath, Israel’s southern port, and various ports in East Africa and the Far East, has been reached between Dutch Senator M. Willemse, owner of a shipping line, and Israeli authorities. This was learned as Sen. Willemse left Israel today, promising to return soon.

Meanwhile, a representative of the Zim Navigation Company left today for a trip to Poland, Sweden and Finland to discuss the operation of a Zim line between Haifa and Baltic ports. Last month, Zim initiated a Haifa-Gdansk run.
