Three million dollars has been raised at three December inaugural dinner meetings for the Jewish Federation’s United Building Fund goal of $7,350,000, it was announced last night by Dr. S.S. Hollender, federation president, at the third of the meetings.
He said the goal figure represented the Federation’s share of a total building program to cost $8,785,000 of which $2,200,000 will be used to build a new surgical wing and rehabilitation section at Michael Reese Hospital.
Other planned allocations listed were $1,500,000 for a new residence hall and improvements in present buildings at Mount Sinai Hospital; $2,000,000 for two new community centers and expansion of present ones; $1,000,000 for a new treatment center for psychotic children and $2,085,000 for additions and improvements at three homes for the aged.
