The Australian Minister of Industry, William McMahon, defended today the shipment of sheep to Israel, asserting in Parliament that they would not affect the Australian wool industry.
Mr. McMahon noted that the Israelis would not set up an industry in competition with Australia and that the sheep sent to Israel were of a different breed than those whose wool forms the backbone of the Australian industry.
