American Industrialists Establish Three New Plants in Israel

The American-Israel Chamber of Commerce today announced that arrangements for the establishment In Israel of a $1, 000, 000 plant for glass products by an American manufacturer were completed earlier this month. The American Industrialist, whose name was not given, was assisted and guided by the American-Israel Chamber. Commerce throughout the various phases of discussion and negotiation that led to the signing of the final agreements, the announcement said. The plans received the full support of Israel’s Investments Center, and the Center’s representative in the U.S. accompanied the industrialist on his trip to Israel to facilitate the comprehensive arrangements.

Another American plant in Israel, whose construction has been completed, started production. It Is the Middle East’s only plant for Instant coffee which will be marketed in Israel as well as exported under the Elite trade mark. The plant is a joint venture of Elite Ltd., Israel’s leading manufacturer of chocolates and candies, and the Sol Cafe Manufacturing Corporation of New York.

Construction was also started at Ashdod of a plant which will manufacture the full line of the cosmetic products of the Revlon Products Corporation of New York, At the initial stage, $500, 000 are being invested in the plant, but when fully completed the investment will total $2,500, 000, a major part of which will be provided by the Israel Government from the country’s development budget. The cosmetic products, whose Israel trade name will be ‘Marlon, ‘ will be exported under exclusive arrangements with Revlon to some 19 countries.
