The Liberal International, an association of middle class parties in various nations of the world, welcomed the United Nations General Assembly resolution attempting to ease tension and avoid conflict in the Middle East. Its views on the region were expressed in a resolution adopted at the close of its annual congress here.
The Liberal International resolution urged a “resolute effort” by the nations of the world to promote a peaceful settlement of differences among the peoples of the Middle East. Guarantees of territorial integrity of all countries in the region are a prerequisite for the restoration of peace, the resolution added.
