Premier David Ben Gurion had a 90-minute talk today with Maj. Cen. Carl G. von Horn, United Nations truce supervision chief, on security conditions along the Israeli-Arab armistice lines.

An official communique released after the meeting said the discussion had stressed the question of opening fire by forces on either side. Premier Ben Gurion, it stated, cited strict orders given to the Israel forces not to fire except in self-defense. He said that observance of a like condition by the other side was the best assurance of quiet frontiers.

Earlier this week, Gen. von Horn met with Dr. A. Biran, head of the Foreign Ministry’s armistice division, and discussed the situation on the Israel-Syrian border.
