A monument to the memory of Shlomo Ben Yossef, the first Jew sent to the gallows by British authorities in 1938, was unveiled today on a mountain in Galilee.

Attending the ceremony were Herut members of the Knesset, Israel’s Parliament, headed by Menachem Beigin, many Betar youths, and former members of the underground Irgun of the pre-state period.
