A complete kiln and pottery from a workshop dating to the Nabatean period (6th Century B. C. E.) have been discovered today at Avdat, south of Sde Boker, in Israel’s Negev desert.
The discovery proves that the decorated Nabatean pottery previously thought to have been imported from Petra in Transjordan, was actually manufactured in the Negev, Various artifacts believed to be from Rome were also found near the kiln.
