Export of Canadian Products to Israel Rises; Wheat is Largest Item

The export of Canadian products to Israel during the first six months of the year has increased more than 50 percent over the 1958 figure for the same period, according to the report of the Dominion Bureau of Statistics issued by the International Trade Division. The value of the exports rose from $1, 815, 000 to $2, 725, 000.

Wheat is the largest single item of export from Canada to Israel in terms of dollar value, and this accounted for $1, 690, 000 of the six months’ export for 1959 as compared with $601, 000 in 1958. Other major Canadian exports to Israel during this period included canned meats, parts for tractors, milled asbestos fibres.
