10,000 Demonstrate in Israel; Protest Against Arms Deal with Germany

About 10,000 former Ghetto fighters, partisans, ex-serviceman and members of leftist parties last night staged a demonstration against the resurgence of Nazism. At the same time, the mass-meeting held by the demonstrators adopted a resolution protesting against the arms deal between Israel and West Germany.

Yaakov Zerubavel, a leader of the leftist Achdut Avodah, addressed the mass-meeting. Warning that the recent outbreak of anti-Semitism is “a threat to the whole world.” he declared that Israel “must not arm Germany.”
