B’nai B’rith Opens Emergency Campaign for Chilean Earthquake Victims

An emergency campaign to aid Chilean earthquake victims was opened today by B’nai B’rith, President Label Al Katz urged members throughout the nation to participate with the National Red Cross in contributing money and clothing to the massive relief effort.

Maurice Bisgyer, executive vice-president of B’nai B’rith, reported the organization headquarters cabled $1, 000, to Chilean B’nai B’rith leaders. It was in response to a request for aid. B’nai B’rith in Chile reported the devastation as “catastrophic. ” There are four lodges in Chile. Santiago is Latin American headquarters for the B’nai B’rith International Council.
