The’ West German Government intends to press Argentina to grant the extradition of Dr. Josef Mengele, a physician in the Nazi concentration camps, who has been on the “wanted” war criminals list for the last 15 years, the London Daily Express reported today. So far, the paper reported from Bonn, the Argentine authorities have “stonewalled” the extradition request.
The Daily Express reported from Buenos Aires today that Martin Bormann, top Nazi, who was with Adolf Hitler in the Berlin bunker where the Fuchrer died in May 1945, “almost certainly” died in Argentina two years ago of natural causes. It said the West German Government had kept up a “running fight” with the Argentine Government in an attempt to clarify the facts on Bormann, “but each time a definite clue was uncovered, the Argentine authorities suddenly turned vague and obstructive.”
