Halper Foundation Grants 28 Medical Scholarships; Six for Israelis

Twenty-eight medical scholarships at eight universities in this country as well as at the Hebrew University-Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem were announced for the 1960-61 academic year today by the Mount Sinai Hospital and Clinic here. The scholarships were granted by the Halper Foundation, which is headed by Louis M. Halper, a vice-president of Mt. Sinai Hospital here.

The scholarships are granted without regard to an applicant’s race, color, creed or national origin. Six Israelis are among the recipients. In addition to Hebrew University-Hadassah Medical School, the schools.where the scholarship holders will study are the University of Southern California; University of California, both at Berkely and at Los Angeles; Howard University, Stanford, Tulane, Chicago University and Western Reserve.
