Reports stating that the expected independent regime in Algeria will not discriminate against non-Moslems, Jews or Christians, were accepted by French Jewish leaders today as “reassuring.”

Afrique Action, a Tunisian newspaper considered close to the Algerian rebels who have their headquarters in Tunisia, declared today that “there will be equality for all in Algeria, assuring all minority groups so that they will remain in independent Algeria.”

The newspaper added, however, that the leaders of the Algerian rebels would have to “make a number of concessions to reassure the minority groups as to the treatment they, will receive in independent Algeria.”
