The United Arab Republic is using American assistance, in the form of communications and transportation facilities, to facilitate Communist penetration of Africa and simultaneously foment anti-Jewish attitudes in Morocco and other African nations, a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee charged in Congress today.

Rep. Leonard Farbstein, New York Democrat, said “the time is fast approaching that Nasser must be told to either desist from these activities or forego assistance from this country. . .the American people cannot be blackmailed into this position any longer.”

Rep. Farbstein asked Congress to consider documentation showing that Nasser is seeking to brand both Israel and America as “imperialist.” At the recent Casablanca-conference, he said, Ghana and Mali were “bulldozed” by Nasser into signing an anti-Israel pronouncement “despite Israelis generous economic and technical aid to those new nations.”
