Jewish schools, synagogues and other-institutions were taking steps today to safeguard their property against any possible anti-Semitic incidents while the trial of Nazi war-criminal Adolf Eichmann is in progress in Jerusalem, following the discovery of anti-Jewish inscriptions, including the slogan “Long Live Eichmann” on the walls of the Nidchei Israel synagogue here.
The Mexican press reaction to the trial has generally been favorable to Jewish interests with reports by most papers detailing accounts of Eichmann’s war crimes against the Jews and against humanity. One paper, the daily Excelsior, is publishing trial reports by its own correspondent Carlos Denegri, who is currently in Israel for his second visit.
