A Jewish community relations official warned a conference of Catholic lay leaders here of the danger of reliance on right-wing extremism as a major weapon against Communism and stressed the need for religious unity in meeting the major problem of the day.

Irving Levine, executive director of the Indiana Jewish Community Relations Council, told a seminar on domestic Communism held by the Leadership Development Institute of the National Conference of Catholic Men that unless religious groups acted to provide constructive answers to the problem of the day, they might find areas dominated by elements with no appreciation of the American way of life.
