Members of Anti-semitic Neo-nazi Student Groups Arrested in Berlin

Ten former members of various outlawed anti-Semitic and neo-Nazi student organizations were arrested here today when they showed up at a meeting aimed at organizing a new right-wing group; The students, who previously belonged to such groups as the Union of National Students and the National Youth of Germany, are also suspected of having been involved in an incident last week when a tear gas bomb was thrown into a theatre showing the film “Exodus.”

A Berlin saloon keeper was fined today 500 marks (about $125) and given a suspended sentence of three months’ imprisonment when he was convicted in court of insulting Jews. The man admitted he was drunk when, on a recent evening, he greeted would be Jewish customers with “Heil Hitler!” and with the assertion that “no Jewish louts will ever be served in my inn.”
