A new Israel-flag refrigerated cargo vessel, the SS Har Gilead, arrived in port here today on her maiden voyage to New York from Puerto Bolivar, Ecuador with a full cargo of bananas. The 446 foot vessel, which is owned by Cargo Ships El-Yam, Ltd., of Haifa, is under long-term charter to the Overseas Fruit Carriers Company to haul bananas.

The Har Gilead, whose sister-ship, the Har Ramon, made her maiden voyage earlier this year, was built by Deutsche Werft A.G. of Hamburg, under the Israel-West German reparations agreement. The new vessel, which can attain a speed of 19 knots, is commanded by Captain Hans Lolk.
