Professor J. D. Aaron, president of the Central Jewish Board of Bombay, died today at the age of 68 after a short illness. He was a leading attorney and member of the faculty of Bombay University for many years.

Dr. Aaron had played for some years a major role in Bombay Jewish life and was considered the dean of Israel’s B’nei Israel community. He was a member of the World Jewish Congress and a delegate to conferences of that organization in Stockholm and recently in Geneva. He was also an active Zionist who had visited Israel several times. He took a keen interest in the welfare of immigrants to Israel from India.
