A resolution declaring an address delivered recently by Cardinal Leger, leading Catholic clergyman, as “an important milestone in the development of good citizenship” was adopted here by the Canadian Jewish Congress.
In his address, before the Montreal Chamber of Commerce, Cardinal Leger called for “removal of prejudice or ignorance, with separate social classes, ethnic groups and even men of different religions.” Cardinal Leger also told his audience that Canada “could welcome hundreds of thousands of immigrants without affecting its standard of living.”
