The appointment of 83 prominent community leaders to the National Campaign Cabinet of the United Jewish Appeal to spearhead the nationwide 1962 campaign to raise $95,000,000 was announced today by Melvin Dubinsky of St. Louis, who will again serve as Cabinet chairman.
Members of the 1962 UJA Cabinet, which is the organization’s top policy-making and planning body, come from 42 cities in 24 states across the nation, Mr. Dubinsky noted. Twenty-two of those named represent new appointees, the remaining 61 having served previously.
“In our concerted effort to raise $95,000,000, which includes the $35,000,000 Special Fund to finance the increased immigration to Israel and other lands, we are indeed fortunate to be able to depend on the combined talents and wise counsel of these outstanding communal leaders,” Mr. Dubinsky declared. “They have proved their readiness to lead in this massive humanitarian undertaking to assist 600,000 persons in need by giving of their time, energy and full personal support.”
