Max Bressler, president of the Zionist Organization of America, and a prominent Chicago Jewish communal leader, was guest of honor at the annual dinner of the Combined Jewish Appeal marking his 60th birthday. A total of $535,000 in Appeal gifts was raised at the dinner. Gottlieb Hammer, executive vice-chairman of the Jewish Agency for Israel, Inc., was guest speaker at the dinner.
