An extension of the United States Educational Foundation in Israel for the exchange of Israeli and American students and educators was announced here today.

The budget for the project–popularly known as the Fulbright program–will be 450,000 pounds ($150, 000) for the first year starting July 1, which is 180,000 pounds ($60,000) more than during the previous year. The program will provide grants for travel to the United States for 25 Israeli students and educators and for 15 opposite numbers to come to Israel from the United States.

During the five years the program has been in operation, using foreign currencies obtained from the sale of surplus American products, grants have been provided for 79 Israelis and 92 Americans to exchange study tours.
