The national executive committee of the Workmen’s Circle, Jewish fraternal and cultural organization, today reaffirmed its opposition to federal aid to parochial schools and to state-prescribed prayers in public schools.

“We believe,” it said, “that it is in the best interests of Americans of all faiths to continue the separation of church and state provided by our constitution and sanctioned by our traditions. It is our profound conviction that to depart from this basic doctrine in our democratic faith would be an unmitigated evil.”
