Walter Eytan, Israel’s Ambassador to France, appealed last night to the European Economic Community to sign at the earliest possible time an agreement with Israel, to enable Israel to continue its close trade relations with the six nations of the Common Market.

Speaking at a meeting of the France-Israel Association, he said that Israel’s current negotiations with the EEC had the “supreme objective” of enabling Israel to continue its relations with EEC member countries, and to improve those relations through the close ties of the Israeli economy with that of Europe.
